Monthly Golf Tips by the Mel Sole Golf School.

Golf Instructional DVDs and videos have their place, but they aren't a substitute for the personalized experience of in-person golf instruction.

While instructional DVDs can offer a good general overview of golf techniques, they can't address every golfer's unique needs, and that's where golf instruction has a big edge. As Mel explains in this month's video golf tip, he teaches differently to different players, customizing each lesson to his student's strengths and weaknesses. A DVD can't do this. Mel also discusses biomechanics and a recent DVD TV commercial that promised extra yards and totally failed to deliver. Instructional DVDs vs. Real Golf Instruction is a no contest.  Real Golf Instruction will win 100% of the time!  Watch now!

3 Day School.

A 3-Day school is a total immersion in golf instruction—the class size is typically 4 students to one instructor.  The school will cover full swing with the woods and irons, pitching, bunker shots, chipping, and putting.  Extensive video analysis is done on all 3 days to allow the student to see progress.  this is by far the best instruction available. # day school is a great way to learn without too much expense.

1 Hour Lessons.

Usually better for lower handicaps that don't want group instruction.  Here the instructor works one-on-one with the student.  Usually more expensive per hour, but it has its advantages.

Online Instruction.

Fairly inexpensive, but a catch-all instruction.  Not tailored to the specific needs of the individual student.  Progress is typically slow or non-existent.
