Monthly Golf Tips by the Mel Sole Golf School.
The correct golf equipment if you are over 70 is so critical if you still want to play competitive golf! The difference between a set custom-made for you and buying a set off the shelf is night and day! It does not cost any more, so why not do it!
Here are 5 points to consider when evaluating your current equipment.
- Shaft Flex. Go through a club fitting and make sure you are using the correct flex.
- Shaft length. Again, be measured for this component.
- Grip Thickness. Make sure your grips are not too small or not too thick!
- Lie Angle. The most ignored component of club fitting. Go to a pro that has a lie board and test to see your lie angle is correct.
- Swing weight. The relationship between the weight of the shaft and the weight of the clubhead. Make sure this is between D2 and D4.
These 5 Components can make a huge impact on your game. Please make sure they are all correct. No one component is more important than the other!
